About 3 weeks ago, I was told that Frances, an acquaintance from my JC days, had passed away while giving birth to her son, Evan Gabriel Ong... A beautiful soul taken away, A beautiful new life given.
My prayers will be with you Frances, Evan, and daddy Colin. Daddy has set up a blog for Evan...

Life sux sometimes... Almost too sad to contemplate, man...
It is was something I was reminded of continually when I worked at a major obstetrical hospital dealing with the really high-risk patients - just how much we take giving birth for granted these days.
One in 30 babies used to die and one in 100 women during labor.
Ironically we are so lucky to live in times where a sad occurence such as this, once quite to be expected, is a severe shock to us all.
